The
rich lanolin smell of wool, the contrast of bright light streaming
into the darkness of the shearing shed for me is symbolic of the
Australian outback. It was in these sheds that much of our political
and cultural heritage was forged.
As Australia steps into the new millennium,
let us not forget where we have come from and who went before us.
